This "Get Tough on Crime" campaign is a bunch of crap. Look at the US and how they deal with crime. They have one of the highest crime rates in the world.
But I guess throwing everyone in prison is what is most appealing to voters. Good luck Canada. More people in prison mean more people being released FROM prison without any help.
Put the money towards programming. 95% of those incarcerated will one day be released back into the public. Why don't we develop them into contributing members of society rather than REoffenders?
